A jazz evening happening in the big room of the TRIFOLION with students of the jazz department of Echternach performing in various ensembles and settings.In the second part the EME-bigband, conducted by Maxime Bender, will be performing their new repertoire of their upcoming CD and the amazing singer Tobias Christl from Cologne will be featured by the Bigband.

This workshop is open to all instrumentalists wanting to get more insight into jazz-harmony,composition,improvisation and playing in a jazz-ensemble.
Location : Ecole de Musique d’Echternach, rue des Merciers (right near the basilica)
Time and date : Saturday 10 of mai from 10 till 16 o’clock.
Participation fees : 10 euro for students, 20 euro for adults.

The portuguese jazz-singer Sofia Ribeiro, famous in Luxembourg for her performances in duo with Marc Demuth as well as being featured by the Marc Demuth 4tet, will give a workshop for anybody interested in jazz singing and/or anybody interested in learning how to work on his voice in a methodical way.

A l’occasion de son 10ième anniversaire le Bigband de l’Ecole de Musique d’Echternach vous invite à son concert d’anniversaire le 24 novembre 2007 à la salle Robert Krieps au Centre Neumünster, Luxembourg. Pour cet événement special, le Bigband composé essentiellement d’élèves de l’Ecole de Musique d’Echternach, invite des solistes d’envergure internationale avec en tête d’affiche Andy Haderer (lead trumpet du WDR Bigband Köln) et Heiner Wiberny (lead alto sax du WDR Bigband Köln) + invités surprises. Ce concert va être enregistré pour un CD « live ». Venez donc assister nombreux à cet événement unique, pour une soirée inoubliable.

Heiner Wiberny : Erstes Alt Saxophon, Sopran-, Tenor Saxophon, Klarinette, Bass Klarinette, Flöte, Piccolo, Alt Flöte, Bass Flöte

Geboren 1944 ist seit 1974 lead-Altist beim WDR Köln, zunächst in Harald Banters 'Media Band' und seit 1981 in der WDR Big Band. Zusätzlich widmet er sich der Komposition und doziert als Honorarprofessor an der Musikhochschule Köln. Er spielte seit Ende der 60'er Jahre (nach dem Romanistik-, Geographie- und Schulmusikstudium und Kompositionstudien bei Bernd Alois Zimmermann und Pavel Blatny) in vielen Big Bands und Jazzensembles u.a. mit Kurt Edelhagen, Peter Herbolzheimer, Paul Kuhn, Manfred Schoof und Jasper van't Hof aber auch als Solist in Symphonieorchestern bei Aufführungen zeitgenössischer Musik. Zahlreiche Rundfunk- und Platten-/CD-Aufnahmen. Zwei ganz besondere Erfahrungen: die Begegnung und Zusammenarbeit mit Dizzy Gillespie anlässlich zweier Konzerte in Quintettbesetzung 1986, sowie 1976 eine zweimonatige Tournee mit dem 'New Jazz Ensemble' durch 18 Staaten Afrikas.


Andy Haderer : Erste Trompete, Flügelhorn

Geboren 1964 in Baden bei Wien. Klassisches Trompeten Studium in Wien, danach Studiomusiker und Solist in Big Bands und kleineren Formationen.1985-1988 Radio Big Band Zürich (DRS). Seit 1986 P.Herbolzheimer Big Band. Seit 1988 WDR Big Band Köln. Seit 1999 Professur für Jazz-Trompete an der Musikhochschule Köln, Workshops im In- und Ausland
