Ecole de musique d'Echternach-département de jazz

The jazz activities in Echternach started with Boris Dinev who foundated the Big Band of the music school of Echternach ten years ago, conducting it together with Jang Kohnen in the beginning.
Then over the years more and more teachers joined the jazz-department of Echternach to make it as complete and active as it is today.
It is possible to enter our jazz-department with any instrument today and as of now there are many different instruments enrolled in our department; trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, vibraphone, drums, electric guitar, electric bass, acoustic bass and vocalists.
The EME-bigband celebrated their 10-year anniversary this year with a concert in Neumünster which was recorded live and will be released soon as the second CD of the bigband.
Besides the bigband there are 16 jazz-combos functioning this year which cover many different styles going from traditional jazz till Afro-cuban and brazilian styles.The ensemble classes are held by Marc Demuth, George Letellier, Maxime Bender and Donald Regnier.
Those ensembles perform regularly once a month on a jam session organized by the jazz-department in the café aal iechternoach; please check our agenda for exact dates.
George Letellier is also teaching theoretical side subjects like jazz-harmony, analysis, composition and arranging.
